SUMMARY:Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome\, Abusive Head Trauma\, and Child Maltreatment
DESCRIPTION:Format: In-PersonPresenter: Emily NormanCHCs: 2Cost: $5 (non-refundable)Description: Participants will receive an overview of child abuse and Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS). They will learn the dangers of SBS and how to prevent it. Learning outcomes for child maltreatment include identifying outward signs of abuse and neglect\, discussing family and environmental situations that may trigger abuse\, stating ways to prevent abuse from occurring in child care settings\, and listing the caregiver’s role in reporting suspected abuse/neglect. \nAll in-person trainings will be limited to 10 participants\, except for CPR/First Aid which is limited to 8.
