DESCRIPTION:Format: HybridPresenter: Natalie WilliamsCHCs: 2Cost: $5 (non-refundable)Description:  Participants will learn about infectious diseases and how they are spread. They will be taught how to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases. They will also learn the importance of immunizations\, proper hygiene and sanitation routines\, how to recognize ill children\, and when to exclude children from care. \nHandling & Storage of Hazardous Materials: This course will teach how early childhood educators can minimize exposure to hazardous materials and toxic substances. Participants will learn to identify and avoid common indoor hazards tokeep both adults and children safe in child care. Participants will also learn about NC Child Care and NC Sanitation rules regarding safe use of and storage of hazardous materials and toxic substances. \nThis training meets the criteria of a Health and Safety Training Topic. Child Care Rules require health and safety trainings to be completed once every 5 years. Smart Start of Yadkin County offered the initial Health and Safety Trainings back in 2017. We are starting a new rotation so that all 11 trainings will be offered again within the 5-year time frame.
