Participants will have the opportunity to create art projects that relate to popular classroom themes, such as transportation, community helpers, sea life, etc. We will also look at related children’s books that will help incorporate the theme throughout the classroom.
Resilience means the ability to recover from difficult life experiences. Resilient parents and caregivers have empathy for themselves and others and can keep a positive attitude, solve problems creatively and take life’s events in stride. This training will help participants define and recognize signs of parental resilience, identify actions that can help build the resilience of parents they work with, share examples of ways to value and support parents, and to respond to families in crises.
Participants will become certified in Red Cross approved basic adult, child, and infant CPR and First Aid. The primary purpose of this training is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. The training is designed to teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and decide whether advanced medical care is needed.
Participants will gain knowledge on field trip and transportation safety within a child care setting. Topics include planning ahead, safety during the trip, and how to follow up after the visit. Required DCDEE documentation will be explained and shared.
